Cloud computing is clearly with us for the long haul. The promise of high utilization of existing assets through virtualization is a siren song few can ignore. Many business and educational institutions have infrastructure in place today that provides services in a cloud-like fashion. However, most of us focus on application delivery when we discuss cloud computing since that is what the end user touches. This talk looks more at what is “behind the curtain” providing an overview of technology considerations involving storage virtualization, information protection, and efficient information management in a virtualized IT world.
