| Abstract: |
Web-enhanced and distance-learning offerings are increasing exponentially on North Carolina campuses. So is the corresponding burden on trainers in charge of training faculty to teach courses on the Internet. University of North Carolina at Wilmington has successfully tackled the challenge, evolving its faculty training from the traditional classroom model – cohorts of 15 faculty members meeting twice a week for eight weeks – to something far more scalable. Their new program includes interns, graduate classes, one-on-one intensive instruction, intradisciplinary mentoring, content sharing and, coincidentally, online training. This session is designed for anyone responsible for, or involved in, training faculty in the art of online instruction. Attendees will learn: · five proven
