Abstract:

Contracts & Grants at NCSU is working hard to bring about web based reporting and approval processes, which are tailored to the employee and are user friendly. The reports available via the Web Financial Reporting System for Contracts and Grants include a summary budget report, detailed transactions, payroll information by employee, and encumbrance information. The Prior Approval Request is an online Web Form which allows a Principal Investigator to make changes to his Grant. This applications' approval workflow is individualized by college and fully contained in a database. The approval workflow is capable of going both forward and backward so that approvers at differing levels can make suggestions and send the form back to the previous level for corrections. The full history of the approval status is shown at the bottom of the form at all levels of approval and is shown in descending order by time.
