Universities have an obligation to protect and provide for students, faculty, staff and visitors in the event of a major interruption of mission and operation. FAilure to have an adequate continuity plan could lead to unnecessary injury or loss of life, financial disaster, interruptions of academic classes, failure of research projects, disruption of information technology services and delays in completing other mission critical activities. A panel comprised of representatives from NCSU, UNCW, and UNCC will give an overview of plans at each of their schools to implement comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans and provide a status of their projects. An open exchange of information and ideas between the panel and the audience will follow.
